To eliminate it from the diagnostics, can you try the Hub in router mode to see if the issue still happens Axxxo? Thanks

Hi there,I'm having the same problem - but with the hub in router mode. Constant dropouts for weeks. Two engineers diagnosed - both said likely to do with the outside connection wallbox. New hub given "just in case". No change.

After 24 hours of no errors, the intermittent issue is back in full force.Three engineer visits. Two calls to customer support. One replacement hub. Two engineers telling me the problem is external, and they'd tell the network there was an issue. One confirmation from my neighbour two doors down that they are having exactly the same issue with Virgin.And still here we are. No choice but to jump ship. I don't want another engineer. I just want a service that doesn't intermittently drop out and make using it feel like pulling teeth. Got the same thing going on here. Third or fourth engineer coming on Friday, will probably get yet another router and no significant change. It's peculiar in that sometimes it'll hold up for an hour or two, sometimes it will drop every 5 minutes for a couple of hours. Which is splendid for my work VPN...

BUT if there is some way for it to end up being fixed (last engineer reckons it's either the cabinet or the main cable), then that would be splendid.

Those stats look like a circuit problem with noise ingress in the cable or street cabinet. It’s highly unlikely that the problem is the Hub.

  Did anyone receive a positive result with this? Having the same issue. Engineer visited but couldn't find any fault but could see the errors appearing. Must be outside issue or bad firmware in the HUB. Issue is occurring on and off for nearly a year, not sure if it was present beforehand. Are people experiencing this in modem mode or normal router function? Thanks.

I'm having the same problem - but with the hub in router mode.
Constant dropouts for weeks. Two engineers diagnosed - both said likely to do with the outside connection wallbox. New hub given "just in case". No change.

After 24 hours of no errors, the intermittent issue is back in full force.

Three engineer visits. Two calls to customer support. One replacement hub. Two engineers telling me the problem is external, and they'd tell the network there was an issue. One confirmation from my neighbour two doors down that they are having exactly the same issue with Virgin.And still here we are. No choice but to jump ship. I don't want another engineer. I just want a service that doesn't intermittently drop out and make using it feel like pulling teeth.

  Help Please, I find myself in the same situation. I've had an amazing experience for over 18months with Virgin. I too have my hub5 in Modem mode. I can confirm that if i switch it back to being a router on the hub5 and remove the netgear Orbi 963 router. I experience no issues with the "Power in Excess" events. The problem is that I have an entire house setup on my Orbi. Ive tried moving away from the 2.5gb port to the other 1gb ports on the hub5, but i still get the events in the logs of the hub5. Currently I loose service between the hub5 and orbi every couple of hours. Is there any way i can switch to a different firmware on the virgin hub5 or indeed take it back to an earlier version? I'm finding it near on impossible to raise a fault, as the virgin mobile app and internet portal for virgin takes me in a never ending loop of resetting the hub and checking status , which today I've already tried 4 times. Each time it drops back to router mode, and i have to switch it back to modem/bridge mode. Help or advice please. I've also tried adding a netgear GS110mx switch between the hub5 and orbi, but again i get the energy events.
