Whilst waiting for a resolution consider setting up access to your email account using IMAP; a majority of email clients default to using IMAP — this will give you access to the Spam folder.

I have cleared the cache for both browsers and am still getting the problem. I have AVG and Malwarebytes installed. I have disabled both of these and the problem is still there. I don't have another Windows device to try on. However I do have an Android tablet and it works perfectly on there (This also has AVG and Malwarebytes which are running and don't need to be turned off)

I log into my virgin email account (successfully) https://www.virginmedia.com/myvmo2/home
I scroll down to Quick Links and click Virgin Media Mail
I get the message Connection timed out, Please try reloading the page with a reload link
Clicking Reload gives the same result.

Hi lenrmr1 thanks for getting back to us.
Sorry to hear your access to your emails is still an issue on our website. I appreciate you've attempted multiple browsers and deleting your browsing history/cache. Are you still having the same issue on different devices?
Regards
