Virginmedia email Password recovery

Hi, I set up an email for my wife years ago under my main account. Unfortunately we cannot remember her email password. She does receive and send emails on one of her devices, but we are updating to a new device and have no way of being able to to set the password.

The email does show up in myVirgin email account along with my primary email and one other email that we use.

However, if I set a new 'App' password it only effects my primary account not the other accounts.

It looks like each email needs it's own account in MyVM to do this. When you try and set up a new account in myVM it asks for an account number from the welcome pack... there is no welcome pack or account number associated with the orphan emails. And I certainly don't want to reset passwords on my main account.

This is a real pain to manage on legacy emails that were added to a main virgin account. The older interface let you manage all of the emails associated with the original account.

The My Virgin Media account for the secondary email address should already exist.  To access it sign out of the primary account and then sign back in with the secondary email address concerned.  As you don't know the password you will need to click on the forgotten password link at this stage and follow the steps set out.

  • Hi jhankey 👋.

Thanks for reaching out to us and welcome to the Community Forums. Sorry to hear you are having issues with some of your emails, we would like to assist via private message to ensure that you have full access to the ones that are on your account, ultimately this will require a change of password should the mailbox be locked. Please look out for the envelope on the top right of your web browser or if you are using a mobile device, it will be located under your profile icon.

    Thanks.

  • depending on the the device, and the fact emails are sent implies that the password has been saved

open up either the security or password manger on it ... its an auto-fill option when you first set it
