Server Password issue

I am trying to set up my email accounts on a new PC but the password I have used previously seems to be rejected.

I am using outlook and the email address is found but when I use the password the authentication fails.

I am happy to reset the password but cannot see anywhere on the website where this is possible.

any ideas?

  • There is some sort of catastrophe at Virgin today and people can't logi. I am having issues and agent couldn't fix it and said try again tonight. Still can't log in!

Same problem today and agent advised 24 - 48 hours before a fix is anticipated.

Getting some emails on phone(android) but nothing via Outlook other than a message advising IP address is temporarily blacklisted!

Camperdown  Follow these instructions to reset the email password for use with Outlook and other email apps/clients.

To create one or update an existing one you need to follow these steps:

Sign into the My Virgin media account for the email concerned with your VMO2ID
    Select Account Settings
    Select Identity & Security Settings
    Select Manage your products
    Select Manage email app password
Click on the blue button 'Get New Password'

Make a note of the generated password.  This is what you use in the mail apps along with the vm email address as the username.

      Thanks Graham

There appears to be an issue at the moment with emails using Virgin Media servers so I will need to wait till that is resolved before I can try this.

I have 2 @blueyonder email addresses and 1 @virginmedia - I assume the server password is identical for these?

All mailboxes have separate passwords for both via Webmail and any mail clients. So 3 accounts will require 3 third party email addresses, 3 VMO2ID logins and 3 four word passwords for mail clients.
