NTLWorld servers

I wonder if anyone can help, please. I am having problems with my NTLWorld account again.  It is not letting me connect to the server.  I have phoned customer services who kept saying that I was using the wrong password and locked the account. 3 days later and it is still locked. So, I have been on the chat line, and they again changed the password and said that it would be unlocked within an hour.  Still coming up with the message that the server is unavailable.  This is the same problem that occurred last month and affect everyone with an NTLWorld email address.  I not sure if the current staff have any knowledge of the ntlworld servers, all that they seem to be able to do is give me access to my virgin media account. Which is not solving the problem at all. When it happened last time they said that they had to change the email address associated with the account, which they did to my gmail address. Therefore, every time this happens it means I have to sort out my Gmail passwords again which has nothing to do with the NTLWorld account. HELP please.

Well just been on the chat line again. I was told that all ntlworld emails had been transferred to a company called EE. So it would seem that Virgin no longer provides support for these emails.  How I am supposed to get help from EE I don't know as I don't have an account or contract with them.

VM is responsible for ntlworld email addresses not EE. It will doubtless be yet another glitch in the VM email matrix.

You can phone VM again or wait for a reply on here.

Have you gone through the process of providing VM with a third party email address and generating an app password up to this point?

When you do regain access, you should really start the process of moving all of your contacts and online services away from VM email and over to another email provider. VM email is never going to improve so time spent trying to resolve VM email problems would be better spent on moving contacts and services to an email provider that works reliably.

"they want to alert me to an temporarily blacklisted IP address."

To help diagnose what's happening there can you open your browser  and do a search for "my ipaddress"

That will come up with a page that will include something like this

      IPv4: ? 82.N.NN.NNN
That is the IP address of your VM home network. (I have used 'N's instead of numbers there to avoid posting a genuine VM IP address.)

Is that IP address the one that's quoted in the error message?

If it's NOT your ip address in the error message you can post the full error message here but don't include your email address in your post.
