Hi....an IT dinosaur looking for some advice here.
Since the last email outage here on Friday, I'm successfully receiving email on my Samsung phone again which are either not being received on my Samsung tablet, or being received very much later, sometimes hours.
I've never altered the email server settings on either device since purchasing them 3 years ago but have noticed a slight difference in the settings....
The settings on my phone for incoming emails are
Imap4.blueyonder.co.uk, Port 993, SSL/TLS but imap.virginmedia.com on my tablet, the other settings being the same as my phone
The outgoing settings for my phone are the same except for the Port (465)....for my tablet it's smtp.virginmedia.com
Are the above settings correct? Is there any other possible explanation for the fact that since Friday my tablet has not been receiving emails or has been receiving them some hours later?....obviously there may now be a fault in the tablet but as I say, emails were syncing perfectly on both devices prior to last Friday's latest email outage so it would seem something of a coincidence if a fault has only now developed.
