Loss of Email - F010762348

OK, so I’m now getting email to my @ntlworld.com account.  But everything else from all my folders has disappeared, sent, filed, etc.. 

just got this email from Virgin:-

This is Virgin Media. We are getting in touch with you to provide an update in relation to your Virgin Media email service.

What has happened?

Due to a technical issue, Virgin Media email services were disrupted for most of the day on 19 June. We want to sincerely apologise for the frustration and inconvenience this may have caused you.

While our teams have been able to fully restore most email services, work is still underway to completely resolve the issue for some accounts which includes yours.

What does this mean for me?

You are now able to send and receive emails as you normally would. However, you will have noticed that any emails received on or before 19 June will not be appearing in your inbox, sent items or any other folders.

We want to reassure you that your emails and data are safe and secure; there is currently nothing to suggest your account has been compromised; and that all emails will be fully restored once the relevant system repair has been completed. Any emails sent to you on 19 June when this problem occurred, but not received, will also be delivered to your inbox once this issue has been fully fixed.

For any urgent emails you are waiting to receive, we suggest that you contact the original senders while we move all your backed up data to your mailbox.

What are you doing to fix this?

Our focus now is on working around the clock to ensure your emails are restored as quickly as possible. You do not need to take any further action and we will provide further updates as soon as we can. If you do need further assistance then our customer service teams are on hand to help wherever they can.

We appreciate your patience and understanding.

I know there is an outtage, but one of the status messages said that it would be fixed by 7.30pm but now that message has gone and there is no email error message showing. Does that mean that the email is fixed? Mine is not working . 

Its taking me to a page to "unlock my Virgin Media Mail account". And update password etc. Is that something we should do to restore emails? Or is it a glitch , and we just need to wait? Are engineers working through the night (or should I just go get some sleep ?)

I have trying to access emails, but get the message: "Your Virgin Media account is currently unavailable."

I have then followed the process set out in Step 1 and Step 2, but when I try to move onto Step 3 I get directed back to "Your Virgin Media account is currently unavailable." So I'm stuck in a loop. What do I need to do?

Hi,

i'm aware my broadband is down (serious work in NE7 7NQ), so not expecting email access on e.g. phone or Outlook till this is fixed (supposedly by June 23, 2023).  However, I hoped I could still get to see my emails on My Virgin Media; I did manage to log onto the site; but found there was no longer access to my email on the site any longer - it now says there is no email account available on my My Virgin Media account!  

Is this due to the broadband outage, and if so will I again be able to see my emails on My Virgin Media once the outage is fixed; or is there some other action I need to take to set this right?

It is so brainless for VM to remove the problem notification before the problem is even fixed. You wonder who can be the manager of such a dimwitted outfit.

Hi I have 2 emails set up on my account, however Sunday night outlook was prompting for the password for both. Monday morning the primary email was working, but the secondary wasn't.

It's now allowing meto log into the inbox, but can't access the email.?

When will the secondary email's be fixed?

I still have no emails coming through at 2330! Is this still on going ? 

Emails sent to one of my ntlworld IMAP accounts from yesterday is now coming in, but at 25+ times (& counting) for each email! That, and ALL my emails prior to yesterday (inbox, sent, trash) have ALL disappeared! That's well over 10k emails. By god you had better not have lost them VM..........

When are we going to get a meaningful update on what is happening? The email service has been down since Sunday evening, all day today, and now its saying it will be 8.30am Tuesday before its fixed (Not holding my breath on that one) 

Have they been hacked? Is our data compromised? I am not receiving any emails via my email client, only asking for passwords, which it says are incorrect, even when trying to access online, it says I don't have an account, its locked or has been compromised.

I just want access to my emails, its really not too much to ask for the extortionate amount I pay each month. The only reason I have stuck with VM, is the lazy route, those emails are all linked to a lot of my internet accounts, with them being around since the heady days of NTL (I never thought I would ever say that!!!)

If VM cant keep their network up and give me access to the emails, then that's the last real reason for me to stick with VM, I will start switching my internet accounts to my @gmail account, and once complete, leave VM to the mess they have created

They are not the fastest provider out there, as they claim, as they would need to have a stable service, without the issues on a daily basis, across broadband, wifi and now emails, along with their ever increasing prices!

My virginmedia.com email account is now back up and running both in Webmail and in Outlook. A huge relief, especially as I had a ticket for a concert as an attachment to an email which I hadn't printed out.  I have wasted most of last night and much of today searching for solutions, being frustrated at not being able to access important and urgent emails, and being angry at the egregious lack of communication from VM.

I shall await the offer of some compensation in response to my complaint to VM, and in the meantime I hope everyone else gets their email service back asap!
