We are aware that some customers are experiencing issues with their email service and are very sorry for the inconvenience this is causing. Our teams are working flat out to fully restore all emails as soon as possible.

But who to move to?
Recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Also, how difficult is it to move ones Email account (Inbox, Sent etc.) to somewhere else without losing anything?
After I had just signed up for another VM contract a BT salesman called at the door. He was offering fibre to the premises at 900Mb/s or thereabouts. When I told him I had just started a new VM contract he said thet BT will pay to buy you out of your contract. I also mentioned the inconvenience of losing my existing email account and he said that Virgin will let you keep the old address for £6 a month after you have left (I haven't checked this) which would give you time to sort out transferring to a new email system. The BT price, including TV, was also significantly less than I'm paying now.
I have heard that they do indeed sometimes pay early disconnection fees if you take out a meaty contract with them but I think the sales guy has got confused with BT's own premium portable email service as they can't tell VM what to do in this respect.
After the last legacy accounts debacle a few months back when we were shut out for nigh a week, I opened a new main very secure account at a 'private' provider called Pr**on Mail. Free account gives you 500Mb storage, upgradable with a sub. Many others are available now, plus of course the familiar Gm*** etc, if you want insecurity (imho)! Most alts will offer some sort of migration of contacts and messages, but I'm not tech enough to speak further - perhaps some other experienced Comm Members would comment?
With VM emails I use Moz Thunderbird to download them onto my pc, thus I have all historic records and can back them up. Good luck.

It may be back but I have not recieved any backlog... and if emails have been lost there could.be severe problems.for businesses...
Maybe some more are back, but not all. Ref my previous post, one of my 2 still down VMdotcom addresses is back up, but not the other one! Repairs as patchy as highway pothole teams.
Yup I'm in now but only have 2 emails from lunchtime. there are loads missing (and some important ones that I happen to know of)!
Still cannot access My Virgin media email (as of 19:15hrs on 19/06/2023, haway man pull your finger out!
Still not back for me yet (VM address) and according to the VM iOS app it's been pushed back until 9:30pm now. Bloody ridiculous how long this has been out for, I use Gmail and VM about equally, but after this I'm tempted to switch every other site that uses my VM address to Gmail.
I understand there is a technical problem in accessing email accounts.

But it doesn't excuse the technical staff and their behaviour on phone conversations who haven't been trained on respect and dealing with customers. Their repeating same information and wont let you talk. I had to end the call. The email access issue is happening frequently since lock down ended and I'm getting fed up. Its amazing that with all the experts there still is no fix this is hrs later. Ive been VM since the 10MB connection i signed up for. I want to talk to someone i can understand and not someone is not understanding me.
No email all day, access to Virginmedia account been on and off. Can't even register a problem as can't access appropriate page. Need Virginmedia to find some way of letting us customers latest progress on righting the issue.
What happens in relation to new emails that were sent during the outage and now appear to have disappeared into the aether? I am awaitiing some important mails and needed them today.
still no emails
I thought, after numerous VM earlier predictions, that our Emails would be back by 2,10 p.m., then 2.30. p.m. 3 p.m. and so on, with latest being 7.30 p.m.
Perhaps I am in a time-warp but it is long past 7,30 p.m. and I still cannot access my Emails.
Are they all WFH?
Checking the service status on my account now shows:
"We hope to fix this by 19 June at 21:30
Our technician is in your area and is working to fix things.
You might find that your Virgin Media Mail isn't working at the moment. We are sorry and working hard to restore your Mail service as quickly as possible."
[Also states that the TV picture freezing problem is due to be fixed by 26 June].
Latest update on the VM app is 9:30…..they just don’t say which day at 9:30…!
I have tried to view my NTL emails on both my lap top and mobile - however- I get a message saying "correct credentials needed" When I attempt to sign in, it goes to incoming server settings and asks for my user name and password. My user name appears as my email address and my password appears as dots . However when I click "next" I get the message "Problem with account set up - Your username or password is incorrect" I have tried changing my user name on My virgin Media account website, and retried but get the same response. I seem to be able to send messages to my gmail account succesfully ..and I reply to them from my gmail account to my NTL account - but they do not appear. Any help/suggestions would be gratefully recieved. Many thanks
