Can't link accounts

Hi, hoping someone can help. The ultimate problem is I can't access my online VM/O2 accounts, but the core issue is due to an email account.

I can no longer access my VM or O2 accounts online.... keeps telling me to link this and link that, then I get to a point where it is trying to send a verification email to an old @ntlworld.com email address that I have NEVER used! I've spoken to VM a few times, and each time they keep fobbing me off with 'it will be resolved in a couple of days'. I've now raised the issue with O2, and they told me it will be resolved in 3-5 days, but I'm not confident.

Anyway, does anyone know HOW an old @ntlworld.com email address can be accessed through OUTLOOK, or any other app/website or other, without knowing the password? I have a PW that I used to login to my VM account with, but that doesn't work trying to set up in Outlook.

  • Join the queue. I’ve had this problem since 8th July. Still stuck in stasis. Its been escaled six times no less but nothing has changed. Latest assurance is they now have ‘dedicated’ looking at this, that was four days ago. Still no joy, good luck and on top of your frustrations, its going to be a long haul

      Yes, been over 2 weeks already, many phone calls.

      I've tried raising a ticket through O2 instead (rather than VM). They've told me it will be sorted in 3-5 days, but I don't hold out much hope.

  • Same problem here, I can't access my old @tesco.net email address to link my Virgin media account to virgin media O2 account. Round and round in circles, nothing ever happens, despite ticket after ticket, you have my sincere sympathies.

    Can't access TV go app or sky sports app, so looking for some decent compensation once this farce not of our making is finally resolved.

    Don't introduce a new login system if it doesn't work for everyone, not rocket science 

  • I have a related problem since I foolishly followed the suggestion to link my O2 and virginmedia accounts.  Somewhere along the way I've got caught in a catch-22 where I'm being asked for my virgimedia account details - area and account number - which I only have online after so many years and clear-outs.  Stupid I know but it was all working fine until VOLT came along. 

    In essence in order to access information I need that information.  I've tried a webchat which got nowhere. Like others I'm waiting to be contacted but hold out little hope.

    Can anybody help?

      Sorry to hear you're unable to complete the Virgin Media O2 ID set-up. 

      Your account number and area code/site ID should be included in the email you used to request a Virgin Media service installation. If you still have access to this, you can try searching for keywords such as site ID, or area code to see if this locates the emails from us that contain this information. It is also included in our billing if you have access to any of these. 

      The account number is not something we or agents would be able to advise you of over the support contacts available. Let us know if you've been able to locate our correspondence emails from when you first signed up to join us.
