Cannot access my blueyonder email via my virgin media

I am the account holder of the main Virgin Account.  Up until recently wer were all able to access our blueyonder email. I, the account holder can still access mine and so can ons of my sons. My other son has recently been unable to access his blueyonder emails. He changed his password and then reached a screen suggesting he link his email to Virgin Media 02 ID. When he tried to do this it confirmed that the account is linked to my gmail account. On this screen it says that if my son would like to continue and link his virgin media account to his Virgin Media O2 ID he needed to confirm the full email address the Virgin Media account is currently registered to, which is me, in order to approve the transfer.

Can you tell me whether this is the correct way  that will restore his access to his blueyonder email.

  • Hello titch4ma,

Welcome back to the Community, and thanks for taking the time to post. I’m sorry to hear of the issues that you’re having with your email account at the moment.

Your son would need to create a Virgin Media O2 ID and online account for his email address, and that is the correct way to do so. You need to use a different VMO2 ID for each secondary account.  You should use the same username and email as you were using for the secondary My Virgin Media account before the new system was implemented. Hope that helps to create your son's account, but if not, please come back to us here and we'll be able to help further.

    Kind Regards,

Hi Steven - I have just responded to your message a few moments ago. On checking back in my response has completely disappeared.

    Hi Steven,

Thank you for your reply to my query. I am so sorry for not responding, but I missed your message.

I had a WhatsApp conversation within Virgin Media WhatsApp chat on 14th August, and they confirmed that my son's email was enabled and there was no issue at all with his email address at their end, which has confused matters even more. Anyway, in their response, I was given instructions to try something that might work. However, this thoroughly confused me, and the chat person issued a ticket for this to be resolved within 72 hours (ticket ref P013161285 *). As yet, I haven't heard anything back.

I have tried again today on my son's behalf to resolve the issue with no luck. I got as far as a page that said that Virgin had found my son's Virgin Media account. However, it states that the account is linked to a different email from the one on his Virgin Media02  ID. The email they were referring to was my email address. It goes on to say that if my son wants to continue and link his Virgin Media account to his Virgin Media 02 ID, then he would need to confirm the full email address.  I did progress, but it then asked for the details of the account holder, which is me, including the account number and the area number. Finally, it stated that if he did go ahead with this, they would send me (the account holder) an email to approve the transfer. I stopped here as I had no idea what was meant by transfer.

I accessed on my son's behalf the ID settings page, which claims that there are no linked accounts found for his Virgin Media account or his 02 account.

I am attaching screenshots that I am hoping you will be able to show me where I may have gone wrong or the correct way.

Looking forward to a reply that can hopefully help me sort out my son's email address. Thanking you in advance. I am reasonably tech-minded, but this is doing my head in lol.

Thanking you in advance for any help you can give me.

    Christine
