Blueyonder email - delays when sending

Is there an issue with Blueyonder despatch? When I attempt to send a Blueyonder email, using my Desktop and Thunderbird it takes ages and ages, though is almost immediate when sending via my tablet?

Is Blueyonder on its way out?

Have I got a setting wrong?

    Check service status in your area https://www.virginmedia.com/help/check/status

    If tablet is connected to same network and has no delay issues when sending via email app then consider reviewing software installed on desktop for possible cause of delay, i.e. malware / virus scanner interring with sending of email.

    Sorry to hear of the issues experienced when using Thunderbird on your desktop to utilise your Blueyonder E-Mail account.

    Do the settings used on your tablet match the application on your desktop?

    Is the Thunderbird app up to date on your desktop?
