Is there an issue with Blueyonder despatch? When I attempt to send a Blueyonder email, using my Desktop and Thunderbird it takes ages and ages, though is almost immediate when sending via my tablet? ...

Check service status in your area https://www.virginmedia.com/help/check/status
If tablet is connected to same network and has no delay issues when sending via email app then consider reviewing software installed on desktop for possible cause of delay, i.e. malware / virus scanner interring with sending of email.
