Blueyonder - issues with password and personal info edits not working

Hello all.

Following receipt of an anonymous email which advised me that my account had been or would be hacked, I decided to change my email password.  I have done that a few time over the years, and it was always pretty straight-forward.  This time, I was required to first change my VM account user ID from my Blueyonder email address to an external email address.  That's weird, but I see from other posts here that Virgin Media seem to want to provide internet access but not to have its customers use email addresses provided from the VM domain.  Okay, so I changed my VM account ID as required, then changed my VM account password to one of my choosing.  When I wanted to change my Blueyonder email password I was required to let the system generate a 4-4-4-4 password of its choosing, and I think that I read on that page that I would thereafter be able to change it to a password of my own choosing.  Now that I have the system-generated password, I cannot see how to change it.  This is my first question.

My second question relates to editing the personal information fields on the VM account.  I noticed that my contact information showed an old landline number, so I edited it and saved the page.  A message acknowledged the change, but each time I look again the old number still shows.  Any advice about this, please?

Thanks.

BillBrum Each VM email address, including blueyonder now potentially has two username/password combinations.

To log into the relevant My Virgin media account or VM webmail you need the third party username and the VM password that you set.

To access the email address via an email client such as Thunderbird or Outlook you use the full blueyonder email address together with the generated app password.  Once you generate the app password you cannot then change it to one of your own choosing.

As regards editing the account details such as telephone number there have been various reports of the change not sticking.  These issues are usually resolved by a VM Forum Team member.

They will respond here in due course and gather some details from you via private message.
