VM loses customers and revenue

Virgin Media has lost 13600 broadband customers and 4.1% in revenue in Q2 in a poor set of quarterly results for the struggling company.

Which? Has also just tagged Virgin Media the worst telecoms provider of 2024.

    Oh that's awkward.  I'll just get my coat then ......   😉

  • virgin media prices not competitive

    Vodafone 900mb for £31 a month, price for virgin media gig 1 is £41 a month , that is over priced

  • And that was when it was hard to leave. One click switch works a treat. Just left virgin 2 months early to get fttp from Vodafone. Best move I ever did after 17 years haggling / trying to leave virgin what a godsend.

  • Virgin wanted feedback on why i left early;

    Virgin prices are crazy when contract ends. Then the very painfull process of trying to get price reduced begins. Painfull is an understatement, if rather eat raw onions while pulling my toe nails out and I dont even like onions while my toe nails are large and healthy. Reading this will give you a good idea of how painfull it is. Not able to understand strong Indian accent , having the phone put down on you after 20mins in queue and 20 mins bring offered minor discount asking for manager to do better ..... The service is not even that good with high ping , latency and lost packets under gaming use even on 350mb package. Slow upload speed due to asymmetric data rates all just a bit old school with fibre to the door now. Virgin used to rely on it being even harder to leave than getting the price down. To continue the metaphor , replacing an eyeball pocked out with a sharp stick would be easier and more pleasant. The one click switch for broadband means virgin need to really up their game. I'd suggest putting all the good folks at call centres to work rolling out better services since they are going to be way less busy now.

      It's a good point. I wonder how OTS is playing out at price ratcheting outfits like VM which is still, after 16 long months, being investigated by Ofcom for failing to process cancellations and complaints in a timely and accessible way.

  • I now regret continuing and renewing my contract with Virgin media..I now pay 118 per month and I was promised that I would only pay 109 per month by the CS representative who assured me that would be the figure .. this has yet to happen ... the service is ok..but at the time I was offered a great competitive deal by EE including switching phone number and full TV services ... but this would involve Engineer visits and new equipment .. a hassle to some including me ... my fault .. rest assured it will be "adios" to VM at contract time renewal..to me ...VM reneged on their price promise to me.
