Contract Renewal Prices

VM have recently gone live in my area and are the only option of full fibre and likely to be for the foreseeable future so I’m tempted to switch to them.

However the thing that is putting me off is huge price increases at end of contract.

Typically how big an increase do people end up with on renewal. After going through the calling up and threatening to cancel rigmarole of course!

No one can answer that question for you because VM tries to carve out an individual price with each and every customer at renewal by making the customer engage with a sales agent. We have seen past topics on here where customers have discovered that friends, or family members, are paying wildly different prices for the same service(s).

On the VM package pages it shows you the new customer pricing and also shown is the price after the minimum term. An existing customer should be able to renegotiate something between those two.

Unfortunately, those who are good at negotiating can often do better than those who are not.

Cancelling at the end of a minimum term can often bring a much improved renewal offer from VM but there is never any guarantee that such a call-back offer will actually come through.
