WiFi pod not working

I have been sent one of the crème coloured WiFi pods which the limited instructions say to plug on, give it 10 mins, and it should work.  The light on mine keeps flashing and the VM Connect app says it is offline.  I tried relocating the pod to within a couple of metres away from the router just to see if it would connect but it still doesn’t work.  I also tried to remove and re-add it  via the VM Connect app but it wont re-add.

There seems to be limited support for getting these working, would anyone know where I could look next please?

Thanks

The Hub must be in 'Router Mode' and not have been changed to 'Modem Mode'
Channel Optimisation must be left on
The SSIDs must be the same and broadcast enabled
The SSID must be password protected
The Passphrases of the SSIDs must match
As long as all of the above points are all met then the Pods shouldl automatically connect to your Hub's WiFi and begin broadcasting. The wireless details from the Pods will be the same as the Hub's details, so no additional steps are required to connect up the devices in the home.

It's also possible that the pod needs pairing to your account/hub.  To do this you would need to call the equipment activation number on 0800 953 9500. You will need the model numbers, serial numbers/MAC addresses off the barcode stickers of all pieces of kit and also your account number.

Thanks.  I had two long conversations with VirginMedia today via the number you posted, and they have determined that the pod is faulty and are sending me a replacement out.  I hope it will solve the problem, but I’m not holding my breath as the VM WiFi pods do have a history of being temperamental from the research I have done e

        Hi Geezertronic 👋.

Thanks for reaching out to us and welcome to the Community Forums, sorry to hear of the issues that you are facing with one of our pods. With how they connect it is advisable to follow these methods:

Place pod in the same room as Hub & plug in.
Press and hold the WPS button on your Hub for 4 seconds (it will flash).
Turn power onto the pod and leave for up to 20 mins.
Once all lights are off, relocate to an area between the Hub and the problem area, the lights will flash but will turn off).

If lights still remain please try bringing the pod closer to the Hub, if the issue still remains we would need to bring you in for a private message. Please look out for the envelope on the top right of your web browser or if you are using a mobile device, it will be located under your profile icon.

        Thanks,

        Sabrina
