Virgin Media Hub 3 disappointment [port forwarding]

Good evening, guys, and happy Sunday (for what is left) to everybody.
I'd like to share this experience about the firmware on my Virgin Media Hub 3: this afternoon I was checking some settings on it, especially the ones regarding port forwarding.
At some point I realised that ports 20-21 (the FTP ones) were open, which was not a smart idea, so I deleted the rule, I checked whether on the router interface there were any traces of the previous setting; everything was ok.
Just to be 100% sure, I decided to telnet the host on the 21 port and... well, it was still open!
I told myself: "Ok, just reboot the router and everything will be alright".
I rebooted and then unplugged it and... yes, the port is still open, even though the rule has been deleted!
How is such a thing possible?
I'm really stuffed with this kind of misbehaving.
Any ideas or advices?
Thank you very much.

"At some point I realised that ports 20-21 (the FTP ones) were open" ... frankly this is utterly crackers !

My apologies: the problem had been caused by a daemon opening the 21 port on one of my devices.
Once arrested, the port was not accessible.
