Tractive - pet GPS cannot see network

I have a new tractive device which needs to be able to identify my home wifi - when I look on photo it clearly shows three "available" networks, mine, my guest network and my neighbours LOL.  But when I use the tractive App to search for networks none are seen.  Tractive needs 2.4 frequency - but have 4 other devices in home using guest network on 2.4, so why is tractive not seeing it?

Most IoT devices (including Tractive trackers) are simple and cannot handle the combined/merged SSIDs of VM's hubs. What you can simply do is move your device far enough to avoid the 5GHz signal for it to connect to the 2.4GHz signal, and once it's linked it will stay linked when moved back inside and can go into a power-saving mode.

Just don't use the hub in router mode use it in modem mode with a better wifi router.

The endless repetition of this type of issue makes me think some VM Hubs have
Wi-Fi AP Isolation enabled or fail to pass network traffic between the two Wi-Fi bands.

Try with the mobile connected to the 2.4GHz band.

If the 2.4 & 5 GHz share the same SSID, briefly disable the 5GHz band,
and retry the tractive configuration process.

This is a known problem, particularly if you have a Hub 5.

The usual fix is to temorarily switch off the 5GHz Wifi at the router, connect the device on 2.4GHz and then switch 5GHz back on.
