If you have a coax cable connected Hub 5, try restarting the Hub 5.

Hub 5x?
Did you or an engineer previously split the SSID (Network) into two so devices that prefer 2.4Ghz could connect?
Maybe a hub update has reset it back to one SSID.

Not sure tbh. We only use apple products & they’ve connected ok previously but for the past week we can’t get anything to connect to the WiFi

Hi there ljohn1974 😊 Welcome to the forum and thanks for your post.
Sorry to see you're having issues with these smart devices connecting to WiFi. As Client62 has suggested it may be worth checking to see if splitting the network connection. The instructions for it can be found 👉 https://community.virginmedia.com/discussions/Wireless/separate-wifi-network-for-electric-heaters/5594421
Let us know if this helps.
Regards
Nathan
