Red Light on Hub3 and WiFi cutting out

My hub 3 is showing a red power light instead of the usual white power light. It is solid red but the hub is not overheating and is kept in open space. There is a drop out in wifi connection on all devices through out the day.

I have done all the usual procedures (rebooting, checking wires, taking the hub to the church etc.) to try and fix the issue including running around the house with the VM Connect app which just advised me to get a WiFi Pod (which I know I don't need, unless my house grew without me noticing) and sign a new contract.

The hub used to have a white power LED then it faded into orange many months ago. The wifi was progressively getting worse. Now after the light has turned red a few weeks ago I have no more hope for this device. The wifi often cuts out just a few meters away from the hub which never used to be the case. I am having to use my phones internet instead a lot of the time which is not fair as I am paying a lot of money for my Virgin Media package already. My laptop which is right next to the router is the only wifi device that still works without issues. My PC which is connected with ethernet also works, I have however had a number of disconnects in the last year or two which is unusual for Virgin Media (usually at night so likely some kind of maintenance perhaps, which is understandable). Back in the day however it could go a whole year without any interruptions.
