Qam wrong?

Hi can someone tell me if my qam is wrong please?. My upload qam is always 64 as is everyone's I have 1 channel 32qam and 2 at 16qam I think 64 symbols is more data than 16 no?

Upstream channels

Channel Frequency (Hz) Power (dBmV) Symbol Rate (ksps) Modulation Channel ID

14310000041.35120 KSym/sec32QAM2
23010000040.85120 KSym/sec16QAM4

44960000041.55120 KSym/sec64QAM1
523600000405120 KSym/sec64QAM5
  • Channel Channel Width (MHz) Power (dBmV) FFT Type Modulation

The channel width doesn't seem right to me.  As in not being centred in the upstream spectrum.  10MHz would be centred.

Indeed, if you look in the forum for threads about DOCSIS 3.1 upstream issues, nearly all of them are not centred on 10MHz.

I can't be sure that 10.8 and 10.4 (which I also see in the problem threads) are not within tolerance as I'm still learning D3.1, but the Cablelabs spec does not mention any off-centre tolerance that I could find.

I wonder what the Forum Team will make of what I've suggested and if I'm wrong, I apologise for work others may have to do!

I can't say anything about the upstream degradation, and the Forum Team won't tell you anything worthwhile either.  But on your D Channel 1 point, you so have 31x Docsis 3.0 channels.  Someone else will be getting Channel 1 or it's duff and nobody's getting it.  There's a whole pool of channels in the frequency spectrum that can be assigned to the DS.

It's best to log into the GUI so we can see the times for the events recorded in the network log.  But there's no doubt that the upstream has reverted to its bad ways based on the QAM values.

As to the BQM, if you have a red block like that and your internet is working, then it could be at the TBB end.  Maybe your mother had the same?

Why not help Viper in this thread, which is substantive?

Because it will look better for vm seph, this one has gone unresolved for all this time. So they want me to start from fresh on another thread where I can be ignored. I'm not blaming the forum help as there hands are tied... its networks. Even if another million people were added to the network and there was smoke coming out the drop cables and modulations were down to BPSK 2qam long as there is a signal what ever its like 👍 thats ok 👌.

If it continues in the new year on this new contract I've said it 100 times and been accommodating and very patient to resolution, with all that time ive waited. Then I will take my droves of evidence to small claims for myself and my family. As there's obviously no cares given for us. By then I will have time to do what needs to be done.
