Poor WiFi speeds

Dear Virgin Media team,

I am trying to improve our wifi speed as it is very poor in most rooms apart from the room which contains the hub. I have had no success after a phone call and online chat. Our hub was supplied with a cable about 50cm long, which means that the hub is stuck in the corner of the house. I would really appreciate you doing something about this and not trying to charge me extra for greater bandwidth! Thanks.

    As you have already realised, it's not very useful having the Hub tucked away in a corner. Fortunately VM will supply a longer cable so you can move it to a more open location. One of the staff should pick this up eventually and offer to help.

    This may not be the whole solution of course, so by all means do that test.

    We're sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your WiFi connection.

    The Hub's location could also be causing the coverage problem, so we do need to check the positioning of it. Can you please ensure the following. 
     
    •    It's out in the open if possible. 
    •    If positioned near the TV that it's next to it, not behind it. 
    •    It's away from large bodies of water (e.g. fish tanks). 
    •    It's away from baby monitors, cordless phones and radios. 
    •    It's away from microwaves.
