I’ve been experiencing a huge slowdown with my gigabit service. Currently on my laptop that is directly connected to the router, Virgins speed tester (from my online account) is showing 94mb/s. I’m getting transfer speeds of below 30mb/s. is there a problem in the Cumbernauld area?

  Ran it again, as I expected it’s telling me my router to network speed is over a gig, and my device, this tablet using WiFi, is getting 500.
  this is nonsense. I have a clean build laptop with nothing but an OS on it wired into one of the router Ethernet ports and it’s getting 2mb/s download speeds.
  there goes me getting to call the offshore call centre for non existent help.

Also, the laptop is freshly built by me (telecoms engineer for 17 years, been in IT for 30) with a gig NIC, yet cabled downloading speeds are lucky to hit 5mb/s
