Poor WiFi signal - options

Hi,

I’ve recently switched to virgin broadband with the lure of super fast speed.
However the WiFi range is extremely poor. Only getting signal in the room of the hub and and the adjacent room and room above.  Hub 3.
I’ve completed the scans using the connect app and it confirms poor signal elsewhere, doesn’t give me the option for a pod / booster.
Tried online chat and that was a painful experience, slow responses and asking same questions as the app.
what are my options to contact customer service? Or am I better off getting my own WiFi extenders or moving to another provider?

Thanks

stacy

The official route, as you know, to get |Pods is to use the VM Connect App and scan your property.  When completed, the app should allow you to order the first Pod.  If this is not working, just wait here a day or two for a VM Mod to pick this up and discuss directly with you.

However, if you have to pay the £8pm for the Pod rental, I would suggest you look to getting your own solution to keep if you move ISP.  Either a MESH system, or a couple of Wifi Access Points.

Moving provider may not be a solution either, as it is difficult for one Router (Hub) to cover a whole property in most cases.

  • Hi staywain

    Welcome to the Community Forums.

Sorry to hear of your concerns with your WiFi coverage and not being able to order WiFi pods.

We've not been able to locate you on the systems on our side. If you still need support with this, can you please post your results from Sam Knows here and we assist further.

If you're on our Volt or 1Gig packages, our pods would be free of charge to try, if not, then there is an £8 a month charge for WiFi Max. You can find more about this here should you need.
