Packet loss issues 2Gig

This is infuriating, any ideas what’s been causing this random packet loss?

Nope but VM sure make it look dirty.

guess your right just another case of VM speed test making their connection look bad and needing modem mode to fix it..

Unused connection all day, however it only shows on real speed samknows when doing the router side of the test, device doesn’t cause any packet loss on pingplotter

This suggests that the overhead of running a fully saturated Gig2 test on the HUB 5x overwhelms the hardware.

Its not the hardware or we would see high ping spikes this is the speed test traffic set for high Priority on the hub

There have been other reports of the hourly tests o XGS-PON.  Could this be similar?

So the weirdest thing last night between 12-1am the internet went down, the hub said the connection was okay, however it was down until I restarted it this morning then it came back on. So weird…

Still no improvement unfortunately.... the last packet drop had me disconnect from a game, it's so annoying!

Looks like the speed test guy nipped off for a cuppa at 9pm.

I would raise a formal written complaint demanding that the speed tests cease immediately.

      Hi InspireJS

Welcome back to our forums and sorry to hear you have been having ongoing issues with packet lost. To best look into what is going on we are sending you a private message. Please keep an eye out for an envelope at the top right corner of your Forum page. Let me know if you have any issues locating this.

      Thanks,

  • Exactly the same boat. 2gig up and down.

this monitor has been running since friday, issues have been present about a week prior to that and still persist. £90 a month for constant drop outs is not the service i intended on paying for!

Any luck?! I’ve got virgin mod in DMs telling me they can’t deactivate the hourly tests 😂 despite many saying they can and do! I’m still having them every hour! It’s so frustrating when I’m trying to watch a film and :45 to the hour it stops the film!

They have turned it off on mine yesterday after mods sorted it; however today this started to randomly happen! So god knows!

We can see you are currently in DM with my colleague about this, please do reach back out if you do require any further assistance.

  • Thought I would l leave an update here, I was having the 30 min ping spikes and so I got an engineer come today to check it out, he says samknows speed test is built into the hub and its that that sends out the tests when it sees a degradation in service, he had a record on his phone of all the interrupts I had been receiving, he was unsure why it was doing it every 30 mins though, he cleaned the fibre connections wqhich were slightly dirty and replaced the hub incase it was that that was faulty and lo and behold 5 hours so far uninterrupted gaming, so maybe a route to go down if anyone still having the issues
