No DHCP for wired devices

Odd problem, none of the wired devices on my home network can acquire IP config via DHCP yet wireless devices can. It's intermittent in that I can make it work OK for a few minutes by restarting the Hub 3.0.

I have a switch that feeds a desktop PC, printer and a few other devices so although my laptop is fine on WiFi this is causing a bit of a problem for other devices.

I've taken the Hub 3.0 out, added a different router, everything works fine (except no broadband as the alternative router is just a simple DSL device) so it's looking like the Hub 3.0 is the cause.

Anyone seen this before? Better still, anyone know how to fix?

Thanks!

Other than a full reset the HUB might need replacing.

We had the same a couple of months ago, the DHCP server stopped working on our Hub 3
and a factory reset fixed this. I have only encountered this once in almost 8 years.

Press RESET for 60 seconds, then leave the Hub 3 powered on the revert to the shipping condition.

Why not just have the hubs with ROM only firmware.

factory reset should not be needed to fix this every time it happens

Tell me, the wired devices, do they not get any IP address at all via DHCP, or do they but it’s ‘not correct’? You don’t happen to have any ‘Powerline’ adapters by any chance do you?

None at all. It's really strange, WiFi devices get it fine, Wired get nothing.

No powerline adapters, one switch but have bypassed that and still find same problem.

Really not sure Virgin Media know what the cause is but they're changing the router tomorrow so hopefully problem solved.
