New hub, old network

Just got new hub 5 and everything seems to be working fine apart from all my devices are still showing the old hub 3 name and using the old password. None of my devices have picked up the new hub. It seems the new hub has been activated and I'm getting the good download speeds but somehow has kept the old hub and password details. Is there any way of connecting to the new hub 5 number and deleting the old one?

Have your devices to use the hub 5 SSID and password found on the hub

No, devices still using old hub 3 network and passwords. Can't find new ssid for hub 5.

I did have the old boosters plugged in when I installed it but have since taken them out

Using the old Hub 3's SSID / Passwords are your devices gaining access to the internet ?

Yes. Reset hub 5 this morning old hub disappeared and found new hub name but when prompted to enter wifi password to connect it wouldn't connect then it vanished and the old hub 3 WiFi appeared back with everything still connected. Very strange. Everything is working pergect but I'm just curious as why it has kept old hub and password and won't connect to new hub

On each device you need to forget/delete the old SSID so that it no longer shows on that device.

Then start again to find the new SSID and the new WiFi password.

Connect to the Hub 5's admin console via a wired connection and check what the SSID is being broadcast from the Hub 5.

Quite a few puzzles here !

Is the old VM Hub 3 still connected to the coax cable and powered up ?

  • Hi Scottie8 I’m in exactly the same situation as you my friend,,,,did you get an answer to solve the issue?

it’s not clear you did and I was curious if it would help me too.

      Hi Andrmik

Sorry to hear of the connection and network issues since changing to the new Hub, we appreciate you letting us know and welcome to the community.

Have you followed the advice previously offered within this thread? If not we would recommend removing the old hub network from your devices using the forget option. We'd also recommend checking via the Hub's UI which SSID's are in use via that hub. You can do this via the IP address on the base of the Hub 192.168.0.1 and the settings password on the sticker on the base of your Hub 5.

        Yeah

Everything works fine just thought it strange that new hub doesn't show on connection list but old hub does and I've to use old hub name and password to log into new hub, other than that its all good 👍
