New Hub using old network

Installed new Hub5 today.  New network popped up for a couple of minutes then disappeared. Had removed old details but they reappeared. Called help line but they didn’t get the problem.  Said would message me but didn’t.So am now using Hub3 details with Hub 5 - does it matter. Pls give response idiot like me can understand

  • I believe this occurs by default when HUBs are swapped out, and no, it doesn't matter.

Saves you having to setup all your devices again!

Well it’s STILL happening and causing a lot of problem apart from the time wasted.  The old password no longer seems to work either.  What a complete pain

Correct, it will still be happening as it's how it works when a HUB is replaced.

I think this only happens when you have the Connect app.  I believe it’s the app that does the changes.  It’s all part of managing the Intelligent WiFi?

The VM Connect app has an option that applies the credential of the previous Hub to the replacement Hub. This option can be enabled / disabled in the Connect app.

The Wi-Fi SSID / Passwords are reported to be carried forward.

But is the Hub admin password also carried forward  ?
