Network speed bottlenecked

Was reading over loads of forums as my speeds where struggling, I know this a year old now but hopefully this helps someone. Had Gig1 Installed couple of days ago, set my PC upstairs and connected through Ethernet extender in wall sockets. Wi-Fi speeds spot on, Wired Speed not so good. Ran a SamKnows Speed Test, Router is getting the full 1130mbps but Device is not, okay, something is bottle necking the speeds. Bought a CAT 6 Ethernet from Curry's, still no joy. Moved PC Downstairs and Wired directly to Router. Speeds are absolutely spot on where they should be 1130mbps download. Problem solved.

Wouldn't always blame ISP before exhausting every option you have. In some cases it could be an out of date motherboard network driver that's bottlenecking the speeds as well. In my case luckily enough it was just the Ethernet extenders.

Potentially going to explore newer Ethernet extenders which will hopefully allow me to get the full speed through the Extenders but for now I'm happy.

Good luck chaps.

Why not use the Wi-Fi on the PC if that is spot on ?

Powerline Adaptors are a convenience device great for a TV or a Printer. Even if you buy AV2000 PLAs expecting to see a perfect connection at 900 + Mbps is very optimistic.
