Laggy wifi problem fixed

For the past week or so I have been having problems with my wifi.It first started with asking Alexa to turn on the lamp.It would take about 4 seconds before the lamp came on.I then noticed my wifi cameras were having trouble connecting to the app and when they did the picture displayed but the clock didn't move on the time meaning the camera wasn't sending a constant signal. The final problem was with tiktok, with the videos taking 4 seconds to start playing on every swipe.

I turned off the router for ten minutes and turned back on but it still didn't help.

Eventually I found the problem and would like to share the cure so that it helps others.

The problem is in the routers settings.

Login into your router with the address 192.168.0.1 and enter the password on the bottom of the router.

Go to advanced settings and then wireless and then wireless signal.

Under smart wifi change the setting to 'disable channel optimization' and then click 'apply changes'

After doing this my cameras connect instantly, tiktok loads straight away and my Alexa turns on the lamp instantly.

Hope this helps other people with the same problem.
