Hi, I have a hub 5 and get speeds of 350mbps using my phone, but when I’m using my works laptop it keeps crashing.
My IT department have advised that VM are not letting my connection pass-through.
Anyone having similar issues, my works VPN is AO, a Microsoft product. Thanks.

The low speed test you see typically the throttled rate of your firms VPN platform.
We always use VPNs with a computer or laptops directly cable connected to the VM Hub.
Does "extender" means Wi-Fi Repeater ? I would not cable connect to that, it would just be using a laptop with an external Wi-Fi adaptor i.e. still a half duplex connection, still with added jitter & latency.
My suggestion remains, connect the laptop direct to the VM Hub with a network cable so that all aspects of Wi-Fi and internal network issues can be ruled out as causing you any issues.
Expect an AV600 Powerline extender with 10/100 sockets to have a throughput in the 45 to 55+ Mb/s range under good conditions. How does that compare to what you see now via Wi-Fi ?

The VPN installed on the laptop has two tunnels, and sometimes these disconnect.
Even when they are connected and run a speed test, I get really slow speeds.
I’m just trying to establish who is at fault.
Do you think if I purchase a broadband extender and connect via Ethernet it might resolve the issue.
Like I said you can test modem mode with your laptop as is by Ethernet if your laptop does not have Ethernet get this:

I did try in modem mode and was getting better speeds, but by doing this I lost the WiFi connection so I couldn’t connect to the internet apart from using the laptop.
I had to reset the router to get back online.
The very strange thing about this thread is no where does it say "my VPN fails to connect".
You have Parental Controls OFF and hopefully have tried a Public VPN, if these do not work this is not a problem of the VM DNS blocking your VPN from connecting.
I'd get back to the office tech support team and get them to fix the issue of the laptop crashing as my first step.
I would never contact Gadget Support over a laptop that belongs to an employer or a client.

works laptop it keeps crashing ... we don't have a description of what this means, but if it is BSOD or laptop reboots / needs to be rebooted, that would be unusual for an ISP related issue.
The firewall's 'Block fragmented IP packets' is enabled, so disable it. Also disable Virus protection in your account. If none of this works try using another DNS on your laptop (I use 9.9.9.9).
With "Parental Controls" Disabled in the VM Online Account, all VPNs work perfectly for us.
Note this is not a setting of the VM Hub.

You need to use hub in modem mode get your own compatible router.

well the solution is not to use router mode you can find the modem mode in the hub when you login you can even test with a wired laptop to the hub to see if it works or you can look at getting your own router.
