Hub doesn't re-register on the network after updates

Hub did not re-register on the network after an 'update early hours of the morning'. I assume it was an update.  WiFi service was fine and then it just went down. Last issue 18-Dec-2025 and hub stayed offline for over 30 minutes at which point I power-cycled it and WiFi service came back. I's now happened twice in the last week. Is this a known issue with the hub? Do some updates cause the hub to go into a 'soft-lock state' where it appears powered but is non-functional? :/

VM firmware updates are few and far between normally, and any I've ever had on the Hub have not impaired the Hub, it just reboots itself.

Try checking with Area faults on  0800 561 0061 or if you have a VM landline 150 as small local faults are not listed on the VM status page.

Post the power levels, Pre and PostRS errors and network log from the Hub.

Setup a BQM to monitor your circuit http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ping

    Once done we can comment.

Also note there seems to be an issue with the Hub 5 and the 2.4Ghz band at the moment, in that it "stops" and the only solution is a Hub reboot.  There are threads here somewhere about this.

  • Hi Dee2Mark 👋 Welcome back to the community forum! Thanks for posting.

Sorry to hear these concerns about your hub. Were you able to check the service checker 👉 https://virg.in/service which should identify any known local issues affecting you, and run some testing on your hub?

Please let us know how you are getting on so we can offer further support if needed! Thanks for your patience in the meantime. 🌞
