I have mesh system and going to use this in bridge mode with the hub 5 be able to perform ok as a wired router with WiFi off.

I want to use the 2.5gbps to get most out my Wifi

Always best to run VM hubs in modem mode and set up your mesh master unit as a router

If your mesh router has a DHCP server (most do) then you should run the hub in modem mode. Also your mesh router needs a 2.5Gbps WAN port (or better) to utilise the full speeds coming from the hub.

Adding one Wi-Fi Router that is next to the VM Hub may make little to no difference to the Wi-Fi coverage in the home. Focus on getting the most out of Wi-Fi by installing more Wi-Fi Access Points or Wi-Fi Mesh nodes to properly cover the house.

Use the Hub 5's  2.5Gb/s port only if :

    1) Your 3rd Party Router (or switch)  also has a 2.5Gb/s or faster network port.
    2) And EEE ( Energy Efficient Ethernet ) is disabled on the 2.5Gb/s port.
