Hub 3 has a continuous red light

Reading previous comments this is indicative of the hub overheating, I have tried all the remedial actions I've seen in the forum with no result. Virgin's online chat seems to offline and the thought of trying to communicate with your "help desk" fills me with despair, I've wasted a large portion of the day simply trying to find someone to help, I'm sorely tempted to give up, terminate my contract and find a responsible ISP to deal with.
