How do I order the Wi-Fi pods?

Hi how do I order the Wi-Fi pods as can’t get the connect app to work?

    You can call  0800 064 3850 to order the first one - or follow instructions on that website - or just wait here for a VM person to respond in a day or two and they will sort the first one for you . If you call dont get fobbed off by the offshore CS agents' saying you aren’t eligible it will be £5 or £8 month - you are… and it wont be - just look on the webpage.

    If not free to you… you will be charged £8/month (note - BT charge £10/mo for their whole home wifi solution). It’s a simple solution and should work for you. However, you would soon pay off that cost by buying your own wireless solution that will be yours to own and use forever, although the VM Pods should be a simpler option.

  • I was promised Wi-Fi pods had been "ordered" on 3 separate occasions, including when I opened the contract (was part of the agreement to open the account) - never turned up, now being told I don't need them and the issue is "my house" even though one room in the house doesn't receive above the Wi-Fi guarantee speeds (either fails to run the VM connect test or gets lower than 12 Mbps if you stand close to the doorway) - absolutely awful customer service to be promised on 3 separate occasions that they had been ordered (I even asked for confirmation and was told this wasn't possible as its an automated system to raise the order) - probably wont be renewing if this isn't resolved purely out of principle because you have lied to me on so many occasions. 

  • I am having an incredibly frustrating time trying to request Wi-Fi pods.  I have downloaded the Connect App but it won't connect to my Hub despite me following all the steps.  I've used the recommended third party online speed checker at various places in my home and it clearly shows the Wi-Fi signal drastically dropping off.  I've tried calling multiple times and gone through various menus but am unable to get through to someone.  This should not be so hard.  Can someone from VM please take me through the steps to order a pod?  Thank you in advance!

  • I am needing a 3rd Pod for my Garden Shed. My son is at college and needs to run you tube whilst doing his carpentry course. It is buffering a lot on the wifi we have ( and I certainly don't want him in the kitchen with his jigsaw and other tools). I have the Mega Volt Bundle with yourselves. Many Thanks.

      You should be able to order the Wi-Fi pods after completing a scan via the Connect app 👉 https://virg.in/connectapp . However if you are needing further support we can offer some help with this - we just need to confirm a few bits of account info. I will send you a PM to do this.

        Hi Molly Can you please send me a PM with information you need to offer some further help with ordering Wi-Fi pods.  I am in exactly the same position as preludebabe and have downloaded the Connect app but it is not connecting with my Hub.  I had posted earlier than preludebabe and so presumably you will be assisting me accordingly.  I look forward to receiving communication at your earliest so that we can resolve this issue and I can enjoy the broadband service that I am paying VM for.  Thank you in advance for your prompt attention to this matter.

    I have the Gig1 package and the speeds are 940Mbps+ when connected by ethernet to my computer, very impressive however when connected to WiFi there is one room which is far away down a long corridor that can only achieve about 16Mbps, the rest of the house is fine.

    As I have the Gig1 package I would like just one WiFi pod to boost the signal in that room but ordering one seems very complicated.

    I have the VM Connect App which confirms the weak signal (poor comes up as a prompt) but there is no way to order a pod. 😑

        Hi Kath_F, would you be able to help me with a pod or two too? Or alternatively, perhaps let me know how to go about claiming the £100 bill credit under the Wifi guarantee so I can put it towards buying some decent equiment? Ta very much 🙂 Kate F 

  • How long does it take for the WiFi pods to be sent out ?  Ordered one via WhatsApp last week and not heard anything since.

    I'm a Volt customer and spoke to customers services on 18/01/24 to order a POD, was told it would take up to 14 days to arrive. Waited but nothing arrived so I contacted customer services again on 01/02/24. This time I received my 1st POD after 10 days. Since installing the 1st POD the connection has improved on the ground floor but a couple of rooms upstairs still have very weak connections and WiFi dropouts (bedroom 2Mbps and office 19Mbps). Therefore I'm trying to obtain a 2nd POD to solve the issue upstairs. I have completed the room scans on the VM connect app but I still cannot see the option to order a 2nd POD.

    Please can someone contact me and advise how this issue can be solved.

      Thanks for taking the time to contact us via the Community. It's lovely having you on board with us in the Forums.

      We're sorry to hear you've had some issues when trying to get a WiFi pod. Just to explain things a little further, while your package may be eligible to receive up to 3 WiFi pods, these would only be sent once diagnostics are done a pod is determined to be the correct fix for the issue. They can only be sent one at a time and there also needs to be a minimum period of 7 days between the delivery of one pod and the order of another. 

      In order to help look into your individual circumstance, I've sent you all a private message requesting some information. If you are using a PC/Laptop then you can just click on the little ✉ at the top right-hand side of the page to access your inbox. If you are on a mobile/tablet device then instead click on the little circle icon in the top right then select 'Messages'. 😊

        Hi, would I also be able to get a pm re getting a pod or 2? The WiFi is so non-existent in my bedroom that the Connect app tells me I have turn the WiFi on to be able use the app 😞  

  • I gave up in the end an picked up a mesh setup.  So far it’s been great.  It’s really shown the Hub 3 has an awful WiFi signal.

  • Same as others. I'm getting a poor connection in 1 room, I have to walk around to even get connected to wifi and when I ran the scan on the app it was giving me 2mbps yet I can't order through the app.

    I'm on 1 gig connection so I think the first one should be free if I can somehow order one.
