Flashing red light on router

Overnight my WiFi stopped working and there is now a flashing red light. I did the online checks on the app and it’s saying there is no known problems in my area but the WiFi hub isn't connected properly. I have run all the checks it has suggested, checking the cables etc are all connected and turning it on and off but it still remains not working and flashing red. I have also done the factory reset button but this also didn’t work. Nothing on the hub has been changed or altered since last night when it was working fine. I require my WiFi for work tomorrow so I would appreciate if someone could resolve this.

The primary place to report faults or for service requests is Customer Services on 0345 454 1111/150 if you have a VM landline or wait two or three days for a VM staff member to get to your post. This board is not a fault reporting system.

  • I've had just about the same problem for a while now, I've got no Internet connection, and I've very little TV package access. The TV channels take about an hour to respond. I've checked all the connections, but have still got the flashing lights on the hub and channel box. Virgin Media are stating that my services are working properly, but also state there is a connection issue, and they can't find my WiFi hub. The connection issue is an ongoing problem, that has been getting worse over time, just can't understand what the problem can be apart from a Virgin service issue..

If you have no broadband connection at all (including via cabled ethernet) you should avoid calling the problem a loss of 'wi-fi'. It will confuse some VM support agents who reply heavily on scripted responses.

It can take up to several days for a VM person to reply on here.

Try the automated service status number 0800 561 0061 to check for any faults in your area.

If nothing is reported, phone it in as a fault. Even then, it is unlikely you will get a next day VM tech so you should start thinking about some alternative plans for your work connectivity.
