Can’t get on WiFi

Can’t find any obvious way of speaking to Virgin, great start to the contract…

On my iPhone I’m getting a privacy warning under the network name and can’t access the WiFi. My TV also won’t connect to the WiFi, so this isn’t just an Apple issue.

What do I do? I’ve had Virgin less than a week.

Thanks

Check with Area faults on 0800 561 0061 If you have a VM landline 150 this goes down to post code level. You could also try the web page status, but this is not recommended as it only covers issues that affect a very large number of customers.

VM will not dispatch any technicians while an area fault exists.

    If no area faults found:

The primary place to report faults or for service requests is Customer Services on 0345 454 1111/150 if you have a VM landline or wait two or three days for a VM staff member to get to your post. This board is not a fault reporting system.

The security warning  is usually seen the Wi-Fi Security
is set either Disabled or WPA-PSK or WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK

Connect to the VM Hub menu at : http://192.168.0.1/

Visit the Wi-Fi Security settings page and make sure Security is
set to either : WPA2-PSK or to WPA2-PSK/WPA3-SAE
for both the 2.4GHz and the 5GHz bands.

  • I wonder why this is a problem now when it wasn’t a week ago?

As you have a new install, it is very likely the VM Hub has received and overnight software update and that may well have come with different default settings.

  • Found it , it’s already on, so that can’t be the problem

        Hi WillisTi

        Welcome to the Community Forums.

Sorry to hear of your connection concerns.

If you're able to connect some devices and not others, there are a few different reasons for this, such as security protocols mentioned here.

If the team have advised that an engineer is required, then please do keep us posted with how you get on and what they advised. Please let us know if you are having any further issues or have any questions at all. We'll be here to help on the Community Forums if needed.
