Apple Mail not working over home broadband, everything else is OK

Just after 9am this morning I noticed my Apple emails stopped being delivered to my iMac and iphone, and my wife had the same problem. Our GMAIL accounts still worked as expected and the internet has been fine.  

I noticed that when my phone switched to 4G that my emails were instantly delivered.

I have rebooted the router several times, reset devices etc. (I checked with my webhost and everything is fine their end) It seems to be a Virgin broadband issue which is stopping access to Apple's servers.

    Sorry to hear of the email issues with your Apple devices, we appreciate you taking the time to raise this via the forums.

     

    It's been a few days since your post, have you been able to resolve this during that time? There is a thread here with lots of helpful suggestions if not.

    Try via the VM connection with VPNs disabled and Apple Relay disabled.
