World Superbikes on TNT sport

I've recently added TNT sport to my TV package to watch World Superbikes (now that Eurosport is ending). This weekend is the opening round in Australia. I'm disappointed to see that there has been hardly any coverage on TNT channels. No live races, just a 30 minute highlight of race one, and highlight shows of race 2 and 3 being shown today at 18.00.  A friend who has TNT on Discovery+ tells me everything is being shown on there. Is TNT different content on different platforms?

    Hi chill59,

The Australian Superbike World Championship race 1 was broadcast live on TNT Sports from 4:30am yesterday (22nd February) on TNT Sports 2.

Race 2 of the Australian round was also broadcast live on TNT Sports 2 earlier today at 4:30am.

Both races are also available under TV Shows on the 360 box, which is the equivalent of the Catch Up service on TV and V6 boxes..

Yes, I'm aware of that. A friend who has TNT through Discovery+ gets far more World Superbike content, Qualifying, pre-race build up, support races, and full race coverage (not just highlights). I mistakenly thought that that is what I'd get on Virgin (as I used to get when Eurosport carried WSB).

The streaming apps like Discovery + are an additional cost on top of the TV channels, just as the paid for Eurosport app allowed you access to streamed live events not broadcast on their TV channels.

That's perhaps the case on Virgin but I know on Sky if you add TNT Sports you get the inclusive Discovery+ subscription upgraded to Premium (with TNT).

"If you choose to subscribe to TNT Sports with a discovery+ Basic account through Sky Marketplace, we’ll automatically upgrade you to a discovery+ Premium account. With this subscription, you’ll have access to comprehensive sports coverage."

Sky customers who subscribe to TNT Sports through Sky Marketplace only get TNT Sports via discovery+ streaming. The upgrade to the premium version of discovery+ is done because the basic version of discovery+ does not deal with sports. In contrast customers who subscribe to TNT Sports through their Sky TV package (not Marketplace) get sports from both the linear channels and streaming (as discovery+ is also upgraded to premium.

I'm paying Virgin extra cost for TNT Sport. I assumed it would show more WSB than it currently is doing (just race highlights).

VMs rebroadcast agreement only includes the channels, not any other content. It was the same when it was BT Sports, which you had to subscribe with directly with BT even on Sky to get both the channels & additional content.
