TV Box stuck on Wecome

TV box is stuck on Welcome screen, tried a reset but still stuck on Welcome screen when starting up, tried phoning 150 but of no help, had lots of messages about phishing emails about balances and how the emails are not Virgins fault but on trying to get through to an agent to report the faulty box all I got was questions which the system said they didn’t pick up a reply or just got cut off, any suggestions on how to report a faulty TV box would be much appreciated

    You have the dreaded firmware failure loop.

    Turn the box off from the switch at the back. Hold down BOTH the plus button & the power button (where the light is) on the front of the box, and keep them pressed. Then turn on the switch at the back and keep the aforementioned buttons pressed for 30 seconds. The front power light will eventually turn blue (may take several minutes) and the box will then reboot.

    This should reset the firmware loading process, then download and install the current version. Be warned it will delete most of the data on the HDD including recordings/series links, but should recover the box to a useable condition. If the above fails the box will need replacement.
