YOUTUBE requires new login each time.

We were changed to a 360 box in June 2025 and managed to get it running OK in the end.  Over the last week we have found that we have to login to YouTube each time we turn the box on, involving putting a fresh code number into the iPad etc.  It never used to be this way: we have always just had the screen that asks us to confirm who is watching and then it would go straight into YouTube recommendations.  Is there some way we can get back to logging in just the once and having it stay that way?

  • If the box is set to fast start or active start and not switched off at the plug or with the switch on the back of the box you shouldn't have a problem.

    The 360 has recently received an update to 5.2. If you have tried a power off and on again reboot and that hasn't helped then you could try a factory reset using the keep recordings option.

    It's only a partial system reset and not a complete factory reset. You are given 2 options,

    Keep Recordings

    Format Disk

    Choose Keep Recordings, that means you won't lose your recordings and any planned recordings or series links you've set up, you will have to sign into your apps such as iPlayer, Prime, Netflix and ITV-X again, also Match frame rate and Standby power consumption will go back to their default settings if you have changed them.

    Sorry t hear of the frustration caused by the YouTube app asking for a login each time. We appreciate you raising this via the forums.

     

    Have you been able to check the settings as per roy247's post? When you login, is there an option to 'remember me' for future sign ins?

  • We decided to do nothing and wait to see if things improved.  In the end - after a few days of having to log in each time - the system remembered who we were and logged us in automatically.  Access has been restored to the way it was before these problems arose.  We are closing this issue - for the time being, at least.
