Virgin 360

I received my 360 box and two remotes a couple of days ago. I disconnected my old Tivo box and replaced it with the the new 360 box. The television appears to work okay but I cant record any programmes. I keep getting a message stating 'Virgin TV1 is offline, or not connecting.Turn it on to check if your recording was succesfully schedulded'.                                                                                              I have tried a couple of Factory Resets without success. I have tried rests on my router again without success. Anybody know of a solution please ?

Also why do they include two 360 remotes

Yes you do have a V6, that's the box you took out. Why is it being replaced? So, do you have that V6 and two more V6s? I'm a bit confused as you say you got two remotes, so are you getting rid of one of the V6s? The V6 is replaced by the 360 mini and the other V6 must be migrated to a 360. You connect the mini to the V6's coaxial cable (you reuse the IEC connector), to the hub (Ethernet is best as I said) and you can reuse V6's HDMI cable for the TV.

R-G thanks again for your patience. Yes I do have a V6 box and not a Tivo box. Tomorrow I am going to reconnect my V6 Box and convert it to a 360 box. Where do I place the cables to the mini 360 box. I will reconnect the old V6 box as before. I have a Coax port on the V6 Box and one on the mini box where do I place my current white coax cable, what goes into the coax cable port on the 360 mini box? Do I use the supplied HDMI cable to connect the mini 360 box to the spare HDMI port on my TV. Apologies for so many questions.

  • Soory for the confusion I dont have a Tivo I have thee V6 Box

  • R-G Thank you for your patience I am not brilliant with technology. So I should reconnect the V6 Box I already had and then do I connect the 360 mini box to the television via the additional HDMI cable supplied?

The V6 stays, to be migrated to a 360. This has the hard drive for recording - and you'll lose all your recordings on migration. The old TiVo gets dumped for the 360 mini (note that this needs a network connection and that an Ethernet cable is better than WiFi) as well as the coaxial connection. You'll see that the mini is smaller than the other as it has no hard drive.

If you have a problem in migration to a 360, come back here and I'm sure someone will assist you.

You should have a 360 and a 360 mini, main difference is that the latter cannot record. Make sure the main box is running to enable recording.

We've only received the one box after agreeing to upgrade from a tivo box. I believe we've got the mini box so unable to record anything. Why the two boxes?

You say that you disconnected your old tivo box.  How many VM TV set top boxes do you have?

Are you sure it was a tivo box and not the tivo V6 box?

The older tivo boxes are replaced with a TV360 box.

V6 boxes receive an over the air update to switch them from the tivo operating system to the horizon system which TV 360 runs on.  A new TV360 remote is sent out for each V6 box that is updated so it can run the 360 system.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. On my main TV I just have one box which I believe is V6 Box (Part No WDC WD10JUCT-61CYNY0) . I have, possibly incorrectly. disconnected this box and replaced it with Virgin TV 360.
