Virgin 360 records on bedroom box when I try to set up a lounge recording

When a click to record a programme on my lounge 360 box a message pops up to say communicating with the bedroom 360 box (normally unplugged). The lounge box  will only record programme series that I set up a while ago but not any new recordings. I have tried rebooting the lounge box but it has made no difference. I cannot see any setting that changes where a recording will be stored.

Are these two converted V6’s or are they a 360 master and a 360 mini?

  • If you have a 360 main box and mini box the main box is the one on the left in the picture below and is the box with the hard drive and does the recording. This box needs to be left switched on at the plug and set to fast start or active start so the mini box can connect to it to either set or watch recordings, also don't switch off your hub.

The question posed by Adduxi is fundamental.

TV360 is designed around one central recording pool on one master box, with all multiroom miniboxes not having hard drive storage but slaving off the master. Thus if this is the setup you have, it's operating as intended.

Only in the scenario where you have multiple TV360-masters (by virtue of being converted from a past life as V6) then you can choose the destination-HDD by using the advanced recording options. Otherwise the "master" master will be the default.

TV360-mini boxes are half-the-height of master boxes due to lack of hard drive.
