V6 upgrade menu option absent

Just replaced a Tivo box with a new 360 Minibox, and am trying to update my V6 box to Virgin TV 360 via a menu option.

The menu option, as portrayed in the guide, doesn't exist, and still hasn't appeared 24 hours later. The only thing below the Help&Settings option in the Home menu is at present an advert for a boxing match---the sort of thing that appears from time to time---and I can't scroll below that. (The advert may of course be irrelevant, but perhaps worth mentioning.)

I've rebooted the V6 a couple of times, and even done a factory reset, but the problem persists.

The Minibox is working fine, but says it can't find a hard-drive. I presume this is because it's finding the V6 while looking for a 360 box.

Very frustrating. How do I resolve this?

Sorry to see you are having problems with the migration to TV360.   It's usually best to migrate the V6 to the 360 interface before the tivo is swapped out and the mini box installed.

Have you received a 360 remote control to replace the V6 remote control?

If the upgrade icon isn't on the home screen, have a look in the apps section of the V6.

There's a youtube video <Here> showing how to migrate from V6 to 360.

Providing you also have the new 360 remote control then if  the above still doesn't work then you might be able to force the over the air download  by performing the following:-

You could try turning off the V6 by the switch on the back of the box;  then on the front of the V6 box  hold down both the standby/power button and the - button at the same time. Then turn on the V6 again whilst keeping hold of those buttons for a further 30 seconds.

If the standby/power button and the -  button workaround doesn't solve it then try using the standby/power button and the + button at the same time instead.

      Tuning in

      Thanks for all that! :-)

No upgrade app is visible in the All Apps screen.

I did *try* to do the V6 upgrade before replacing the TiVo box with the Minibox, but in the absence of any sort of "upgrade" menu option, I carried on with the rest of the task in the hope that the menu would update once I'd done that. Probably a strategic error, in retrospect ...

Power+ [-] showed a "downloading" icon for a while, and finally booted to the same situation as before.

Power + [+] went through a software installation screen and then a V6 software update screen, and then back to the same situation as before.

Perhaps of relevance is that, when I tried to phone Virgin last night on 150, they reported that they were having "connectivity issues". I suppose that might have glitched the upgrade process.
