No TV360 Upgrade Option

On Monday, I received the email saying I need to upgrade to TV360 to get Sky Sports +, but don't have the upgrade option on my V6 box.  I've looked everywhere, in every menu and have even rebooted the box, but it doesn't show.  Can somebody help with this please or advise if I'm missing something?

  • Hi there,

Apologies for the confusion. A number of mails were sent out to customers who dont yet have the upgrade app on their box.  We have identified them and will be adding it in the next 48 hours.  Dont worry, you will get your new box in time for the launch of Sky Sports+!

  • Not obvious, but look in apps and there should be an app that will order the remote for you.

Have to confess, I am not too happy having to upgrade. Apart from losing recordings, all wish lists have gone and not sure how to add them back.  Been a bit of a drag logging into every app again. And not easy to use remote in poor light. Might just use Freeview apart from sports.

You can't add Wishlists back as the 360 doesn't have them, it's also missing a lot of other features.

Some of the missing features are as follows; undelete, series link+, series link manager, suggestions, setting of series links for programs not in the current TV guide, ethernet control, keyboard support via USB, switching between tuners with constant buffering, skip-back on fast-forward, quickplay, default recording options, cancelling individual recordings from a series link, multi-channel series links, radio channels allowing recording of radio, separation of recordings between boxes, watching recordings when internet is not available and probably a few others I've forgotten.

Also, extra boxes do not have their own hard disks or tuners (unless converted from a V6 box), so you lose storage space and recording ability and are also reliant on the main box being on to watch and set recordings and also on having a decent wi-fi signal (or ethernet cable) between the two boxes when watching recordings.

  • As far as I know the V6 Box cannot be upgraded to TV360. This happened to me a couple of years ago, the box needed to be changed altogether since the upgrade did not work properly on my previous V6 Box. I would suggest getting in touch with Virgin (if you can, they can be difficult to reach at times). I wish you luck.

The Arris V6 boxes were designed to take both the TiVO & Horizon firmware at the production stage. The majority should migrate without issues, but some fail at the reformat stage or fail a short time afterwards. The usual symptom is recordings randomly disappearing.
