I’ve got two V6 boxes that were upgraded some time ago to 360. They seem to tick a lot when playing back recorded shows, and the fans seem to be getting louder. Is the ticking noise normal? Seems to come and go. Do the boxes need replacing? I’ve had them for 7 years?
V6 refers to those boxes running TiVo software, which yours don't - you just have TV360 boxes.
If the "ticking noise" is clicking, it could potentially be an early sign of hard drive issues. I don't necessarily think that 7years is automatically a death sentence though.
Do your 360s make the same noise if you pause live TV and watch it delayed? That's also a recording.
