Hub 4 Fan continuously ON

Hi,

I have had a VM Hub 4 for a few years, the Fan has only been on very intermittently.

Our landline phone was recently connected to the Hub 4 by a VM engineer. This was due to problems at the exchange.

Since the phone connection was made, the HUB 4 FAN has been ON continuously.

I have vacuumed out the HUB 4 (although it was clean), and made sure it was in free space with good airflow. This has made no difference. For safety reasons, I am not comfortable with the continual running of the fan 24/7.

  1. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
  2. Do you think connecting the phone has caused this fan issue or is it just coincidental?
  3. Is there anything else I can try?
  4. Do you suggest that the HUB 4 is replaced?

Thank you, any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Fan has now stopped running. I switched off HUB overnight. I have powered on this morning and (so far) the fan is not running.

Maybe the Hub 4 needed a long re-set and just to cool down (although it didn't seem to hot) before it was powered on again. Thanks for the assistance.

  • What happens when you remove the phone connection? Also please post a picture of the phone connection.

It made no difference to unplug the phone connection from the HUB4.

Hi graham23061 👋 welcome back to the community forum!

Thanks for posting, and also for returning to keep us updated once you'd resolved the issues.

Glad to hear that it's now sorted following a hub reboot. Hopefully there are no further concerns 🤞 but please do return to this thread if there are in future and we will be happy to help.

Wishing you all the best. 🌞
