V360 box - no longer functioning

Can anyone advise on how I can get 2 x new V360 boxes that are reliable;  do not go from 1% to 100% full within two days and a max of 5 x 1 hour recordings;  do not require logging into apps such as ITVX and BBC iPlayer every time I access them; do not cause continuous problems with streaming other apps such as Netflix; do not result in recordings not playing, freezing, or being lost, and difficulty deleting recordings?

Over the past 6 months I have had to reboot and reformat the hard disk/reboot the modem on numerous occasions to resolve the issues described above but unfortunately these issues reappear again after a week or so.

I am hoping it is ‘faulty’ hardware problems and not a result of the 360 software being a can of worms, although the software does leave a lot to be desired.

After the last reboot a couple of days ago my main V360 box has completely stopped working and freezes at the please wait screen.

Frustratingly, my Freeview on my TV is working perfectly.

I am reaching the end of my tether and tempted to sling the V360 boxes in the bin and cancel my contract

      Hi there,

I have a new V360 box installed and it seems to be working OK. However, I now have recordings/planning recordings set up on the old faulty V360  which I cannot view/amend/delete. I assume this 'legacy' information is stored somewhere on a Virgin central server. How do I go about deleting it?

Thanks for coming back to us Peteseeger, and pleased to hear that a new set top box has been issued to you, and appears to be working better than the previous box used.

To delete recordings on your Virgin Media 360 TV box, you should be able to navigate to "Recordings" > "Recorded" > "See All", select the recording, and then choose "Delete".

If however this doesn't delete the recordings, it may be worth accessing your Virgin Media TV Control application and seeing if the deleting of the recordings can be done via that method.

        Thanks,

        David_Bn

I'd get them to upgrade you to a V6 box with Tivo software. Much better functionality.

Unfortunately no, once you have degraded to 360 they won't let you go back.

Or just go with Freeview. It's a much better deal.

Suggesting someone replace TV360 with Freeview, is a bit like suggesting that Android should be replaced with EE - they're not the same thing.

TV360 is a software platform for VM-TV boxes, which is being pushed to replace TiVo.

Freeview is a FTA terrestrial broadcast platform, whereas VM is a pay-TV cable provider.
