v360 upgrade failed

Hi, I started to upgrade to v360 from v6 and got the failed message. tried again but got the failed message all the time. after 4 phone calls and lots of wasted time I lost on demand catch up and apps, rang again and told outage in your area. which I looked up after and nothing was doing. so, I came on forums and noticed someone said hold the minus button on the v6 box while you turn the box on and off. I did this and low and behold it worked and even downloaded the v360. like someone said on here do the help people when you ring actually know this? 5 phones calls and not 1 person said try this all i got was turn box on and off. and got some excuse when they couldn't help me .i hope this helps others.

Thanks for posting and letting others know that the workaround got your box up and running.

It's great that it worked  for you 🙂

I'm not sure if the workaround is an offically approved method but it's one that we've seen on the forum that often works.

I notice the one you used was to turn off the V6 by the switch on the back of the box;  then on the front of the V6 box  hold down both the power button and the - button at the same time. Then turn on the V6 again whilst keeping hold of those buttons for a further 30 seconds.

Sometimes people need to use the + button instead of the - button, and other times they need to hold both the + and - buttons at the same as the power button on the front.

    On our wavelength

My new V360 remote arrived on Thursday 27th.  Excited to get the new V360 package up and running, I followed the instructions on the telly.  The upgrade appeared to fail, however, when I turned the telly on after rebooting a couple of times, it had upgraded after all.

I then assumed the new V360 remote paired up automatically... it doesn't!  So, I called 150 and the lady tried to help me and told me to press two buttons on the remote.  I tried and it still didn't work but this was because I was pressing the wrong buttons, silly me.

I then visited YouTube and the tutorial stated to press the '0' (zero) button and the small rectangular TV button on the right hand side of the home button simultaneously for about 10-15 seconds.  It worked!  Boom!

I hope this helps others and BTW it's fun to use.  Well Virgin Media, eat your heart out Sky!
