TV 360 install activation complaint

So where do I start, 360 boxes turns up, works ok, second box turns up (which I didn't ask for) sent it back with the courier, one week of watching TV, then all channels disappear, box was never activated or de-activated the box that went back (two different stories from the held deck) Engineer visit because HD couldn't fix problem, engineer couldn't fix problem because it was up to the HD, HD ordered new box, probably not to make them look stupid, new hub arrived today and some sort of little puck box, no 360 box, now this is after and hour on the phone, costing me I'm sure, I was told I would get a call from a supervisor and I said I wouldn't because they wouldn't call me back, the lady on the help desk then argued with me to say they always call back, they never did. As I'm talking to the HD right now, they are trying to reactivate the 360 box I have always had, it's sort of working again, but without F1 which is the main reason for getting VM, another thing she said is they are not sending out 360 boxes anymore and are going to a streaming service only. If that is the case then I may as well go back to sky.

Yes the standard TV will now be the streaming box Apollo (aka Flex aka Stream).  The 360 will be at a cost to upgrade.  VM is looking to move all TV to IPTV with the ultimate goal of cloud recordings for users.  This will negate the need to run co-ax cables for TV boxes.

So want you are saying is we can't record anymore in the future?

  • Just to clarify everything do you only now have a streaming box instead of the 360 or was this sent as a replacement for the mini box or second box you sent back.

If your 360 with a hard drive failed it should be replaced like for like which happens with the V6 box unless things have changed on that front and I would expect my 360 box with hard drive to be replaced like for like or a big reduction in my contract price as there is no cloud recording facility setup AFAIK.

It does appear from a look on Virgin's website that they are only using the stream box for new customers.

What's the point of their TV service now then? If I want a streaming box I can get an AppleTV (or Amazon Firestick if I'm feeling cheap) with no monthly subscription.
